Q: Who is not a candidate?
Anyone who is under 21 years of age or does not have two successive stable refractions is not a good candidate. Anyone with medical conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, AIDS/HIV+, herpes simplex of the cornea, keratoconus, unstable or uncontrolled diabetes and autoimmune diseases should also not have LASIK surgery. If you are pregnant or are actively nursing you should wait to have LASIK. Finally, anyone with unrealistic expectations should reconsider having the surgery. For further details, please see LASIK - Eligibility.
